Well it is only six days till the family and I fly out for a 6 week shooting/touring holiday of Southern Africa. My 14yo son and I will be hunting with Andrew McLaren while my wife and two pre-teen daughters relax and soak up Africa.

We will be varminting for 4 nights and 3 days in Soutpan and later, plains game hunting for 6 days NW of Pretoria.
Between and after the hunting we will be touring to Camp Town for 6 nights, a week near Bulawayo with farming friends, 3 nights at Vic Falls and 1 night near Hwange. Our last week is unplanned and we hope to drive around southern Mozambique.
Andrew has offered an opportunity to varmint for numerous small game at Soutpan including Springbok and Steenbok. Later we will hunt plains game such as Blesbuck males and females, Red Hartebeest, Blue wildebeest, Gemsbuck, and the obligatory Kudu, Zebra and Impala.
If the paper work comes back in time we will be taking a .243 with 100grain Nosler Partitions and a CZ550 in 308 with 165 Woodleigh PPSN.
Andrew has been extremely patient with my many requests and our correspondence has run into dozens of emails.
Needless to say the family is very excited. My wife and I look forward to returning to Southern Africa again and the kids are looking forward to learning about the African eco-system from Andrew and his wife.
I would just like to thank the many members of this forum who have answered my queries over the last 6-9 months and the many Professional outfitters and P/H's who post here, who have been extremely professional in the contact I have had with them.

Enjoy some nice Cape wines and touring, some varminting - what are you varminting? - plus the hunt. Should be a rememberable experience.

You might want to take advantage of a good cuban cigar with that wine! I recommend the Montecristo myself. You have a great trip in store and I'm sure you will enjoy it very much.
