Does anybody know who to approach for making custom reticles for rifle scopes, such as Leupold and Swarovski? Pecar used to do this, but I belive that they are no more...
I've heard of premier reticles, but don't know anything about them. None of the Leupold custom shop options seem to be very "custom" apart from the hot pink finishes!
Any suggestions and customer experience would be appreciated.
Sadly, Premier Reticles' association with Leupold seems to have ended with the death of the founder about two years ago. I have a Leupold VXIII 2-8 hunting scope which they equipped with target knobs, set the parallex at 420 yards, and supplied a 1" dot for, which I used through several seasons of high power target shooting, firing more shots than the average hunter would fire in a lifetime. It worked perfectly and their work did not void the Leupold warranty.
You might try Parsons Scope Service (http://www.parsonsscopeservice.com/) although I think he may confine his work to antique scopes.
I would be interested in finding someone to install post reticles in my Leupold scopes, since I am not a fan of the current offering in reticles.
I had LEUPOLD do a custom reticle for me last year actually. You can either send them your scope or buy one from them...All I had to do was send them the ballistics of the cartridge I was using, included the BC and SD for the bullet and they will put the reticles in for that cartridge and its trajectory...Give them a call...

Xausa - thanks for the tip. That is the kind of work I'm after. I always find that if I look at a scope I always find something I'd like done differently when it comes to the reticles...
Thank you Ripp - I'll certainly speak to them. Presumably if they can tailor the reticles for bullet drop then they may also be able to modify some other aspects of their reticles too. I'll post what I find out here...
