I killed this moose in 2001, but never got to see the mount, as I had it sent to a friend's house in the states. Saw it for the first time yesterday, and grabbed a quick photo...

Bullwinkle looks nice on the wall. I guess I'll never get a bull like that without giving up an arm and a leg. Since Alaskan hunting for out-of-staters is getting more expensive every year, I can dream.

475,
You got that right! I would love to take a big Alaskan moose, but have to settle for Alberta for Moose, and African plains game.
I can hunt BOTH places for the price of one guided moose hunt in Alaska.

I agree, moose hunting up here is crazy. This is my first and only moose.
This one dropped 3 feet from the lakeshore, and the boat was parked about 50yds away..I got lucky
I shot him at 150yds with a 180gr Nosler from my '06. The bullet broke the spine in his neck and he hit the dirt. It's a cool video.
Anyway, thanks..I think he looks pretty good too.

No, no, no!!! You can't drop one 50 yards from the boat. Not one as big as that. They fall in the middle of a swamp (where you have to skin it in neck deep water), at LEAST one mile from camp or nearest boat. It should be raining, freezing rain, sleeting, or snowing.
Don't worry, we'll get your story right!

If you're going to embellish the story, make it sound good. You know how all them hunting stories and fishing stories are.

Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm not the author, though. Just consider me the technical advisor.

What the heck kind of a tech advisor are you...?
You forgot the most important one of all...the wrong side of the mountain...!

Doh!
I was getting to that, didn't want to overwhelm him at once, though.

Maybe take a look at north western BC (MU 6). We have Alaska/Yukon moose up there. We dropped a bull around Iskut a couple of years ago and he dressed out at 625 lbs and according to the "Toooth for Truth" program, he was only 2 years old (I find it hard to believe). A friend of mine also took a great moose around Dease Lake.
