I dunno, probably going on a rant here, but im getting a little upset that i've gone to 5 gunshops in Sydney, ones which sort of have this sort of stuff periodically, and i am just unable to find a decent military M98 action. One store had some, but were in the beginnings of being converted into sporters.

I've had a military based scout rifle using stripper clips on the drawing boards for a while (those steyr scouts are just way too expensive) so all i need is an action and a permit and im ready to go since i've got the rest, but seems that the actions just aren't around anymore.

One of the reasons given out from a number of the gunstore owners has been that the collector value of whole rifles has meant that actions alone are simply not worth being sold alone.

Is this becoming an issue anywhere else, and have other people noticed this aswell? Like if i wanted a No1 or No4 enfield action or an M17 or even an arisaka I wouldn't have to look for real long.

(any leads greatly appreciated )

Try finding a good M17 ?

The guns are now worth more than the actions alone
so no one strips them down anymore.

Try Lawrance Ordnance.

try usedguns.com.au

Try Victorian dealers.

And expect to pay a bit for one !!!

lawrance has sold all of his, and have been keeping an eye on usedguns.com.au.
