Beautiful rifle Ozhunter!

Is there anything special about the three crossbolts?

Congratulations, I hope that you get to use it on the game it deserves.

Nice rifle

What is so special with that "Westley Richards patent foresight" that your rifle has? I have noticed that it is an option at WR that costs 1250 pounds!!! That is insane for a front sight...

Sounds like a lot to charge for a front sight.

Ozhunter, can we see some detailed photos of that front sight please?

thanks

That sight does not look special in any way... Is that sight soldered to the barrel or is that an integral monoblock barrel?
But i think this is just a classy thing... 1250 UK pounds for something unique only to WR guns...

Eljefedouble,

Since you're going to be in Ozland very soon, are you taking your Jeffery with you?

You must catch up with friends on this forum after you move and get some hunting.

To friends in Australia - Eljefedouble is one of India's Flying Doctors who is moving to Australia. He is also an authority on venomous snakes who has been featured on the Discovery Channel, a keen hunter and a very good friend.

And did I forget to mention that he has a lovely 450-400 Jeffery double rifle?

I'll let him post more details about his plans when he has time. He should be busy packing as I post this here.

Good hunting, everyone!

Thanks Mehul , for the kind words!
Tinker, Ozhunter,
I had a busted up rear sight for the 450/400 Jeffery-I was quoted something on those lines when I wrote to them, asking for replacement- single fixed plus 2 folding leaf.
Had a single V machined out and fitted in, its doing fine-until i get a better replacement from NECG

If you are coming to Sydney let me know and I can order a German Recknagel 2xfolding-1xfixed rear sight if you would like.
I am expecting in the next week one in 1Xfolding-1xfixed for a custom 404.
Regards,
Adam.

Looks great OZ.

I really liked the original stock...but the new stock is very well made for that type of rifle.

Rally nice gun.
What happened to the third lug? Anybody know if the lug just ahead of the grip was original?

Actually not to sure if the third lug was original but it did have a fine crack there so it may have been added later.

Rigbymauser,
I have tried to keep all the dimensions the same as the original but set to fit me perfectly.
The original stock was of very average wood and had a crack in the pistol grip that could have been a problem.

Ozhunter Very nice. Did you do the stock work? I tryed to make a scraper awhile back to try and make a edge cut like on the top edge of the cheek piece. How did you do yours?
