J & W Tolley records?

Hi there

Does anybody out there have an idea if the records of London gunmakers J & W Tolley have survived, and if so, who owns them now?

I own a mint high-grade, 5 lbs 4 oz Tolley 20-bore boxlock ejector and would like to verify its heritage if possible. The person I bought it from told me it was made in 1905, and judging from the proof marks it may be spot-on. Would be nice to know for sure, though.

Good news, bad news!

The good news is that I managed to ascertain who the current owners of the J&W Tolley name is. It is FJ Wiseman & Co, 262 Walsall Rd, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 0JL. fjwiseman@lineone.net.

Now for the bad news: all the Tolley records were lost during WW II as a result of fire-bombing by the Luftwaffe.
