Finally got my new toy. It is Mannlicher Schönauer m.1908 cal. 8x56 M-S

Very, very nice! Did you also get a scope with it or would you have to buy a new one considering that it has the Mannlicher mounts?

The scope will be easier to find than the correct mounts. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a set for my M1910. Dave

Beautiful rifle. Do you intend to put on claw rings and scope? I truely love the M-S rifles. I have similar in the 1888 commission rifles. I do want to find one in a non-8mm caliber. Maybe a 9mm or 10.25x57.

Yes, I have old NICKEL 4x20 -scope and RECKNAGEL sells parts for making suitable claw mounts. My friend who has several Mannlicher Schönauers just bought civilian hunting Mauser 1888 made by Sauer.
