Thanks for the post.

I just had a chance to handle this one, and its pretty used up. The minimum wall thickness is below safety standards.

As the Paradox wall thickness is greater than most game guns, .040, this one must surely be off then. If the barrel thickness was taken from the ID, then shooting will even be a problem. Thanks for the heads up

Hi Jaz,

The bores on this Paradox measured .026L and .021R

The minimum wall thickness for the proof house is .019 on a standard shotgun. So it is still somewhat safe to shoot shot shells, though full Paradox rounds will blow these barrels up the way it sits imo..

Did you ever make a play for that H&H 450?

I recall Champlin had three Paradox listed for sale. If you are interested, JJ I am sure could check wall thickness and function. And, as always, I am sure George will listen to a reasonable offer. Dave

yeah leave the pro stuff to the pros and just be there for her.

i just saw the italien barrels on a 16 gauge H&H paradox and i think i was holts. who cares, if it is worn out, it will do the auction circus for awhile. untill it is at a price where i can buy it and blow myself up

Peter: If you are seriously in the market for a Paradox, when I bought my Cosmos there was Holland & Holland in the same group that sold to a friend. I passed and took the Cosmos as it was virtually unused and very nicely turned out My friend bought the Holland as it was cosmetically used up (no color, bluing turned bull and spotty, etc) but the bbls and working parts were damn near perfect and the gun was tight. The original metal is also 100%, just honest age, no dings or gouges.

He wanted it to shoot, tried it, liked it, but he has moved on to pure shotguns at this point and might want to sell. I don't know if it would be difficult to get from here to you as far as regulations, import permits, etc, but I know he didn't pay that much for it and it is a 100% original gun. If you are interested, I can inquire for you. Please advise. Dave
