My partner has just had to back out of a hunt planned for Sept. 2-11 in the Selous, and I am looking for someone to share this trip with. This is a classic walking safari with Richard Bonham - porters, but no vehicles - in a spectacular piece of East African wilderness. Total cost for a buffalo and plains game is about US $17,000; airfare from the US to Dar runs under $2000. Please PM me if interested.

Please feel free to post any additional details, websites of the outfitter etc to help you find a hunting partner.
AQ classic walking safari sounds like a wonderful way to go, and quite different from the modern safari.
So they use porters? Are camps pre-located in advance or "fly" camps set up as you go?
Which concession/blocks will you be hunting in the Selous?

Very sorry to be so slow in following up on my original post - I have been away from the internet for a while.
This hunt will be near the Rufiji River, starting at Richard Bonham's Sand Rivers Camp. We will set out from there on the first day, pitching camp where there is buffalo sign. We will hunt for a few days, moving camp if it does not pan out. Again, no vehicles, just feet and porters. This will be comfortable but not luxurious.
I am not hunting, just coming along as bait, so a serious hunter would have Richard's full time attention. He is a traditionalist: no cars, no generator, on lion hunts he will not shoot over a bait. He is a close friend, and I can vouch for his absolute professionalism; he has been in the Selous for forty years. Main focus will be buffalo, but plains game is on the menu, too. This is African hunting in the grand old style, in a superb wilderness.
Although originally scheduled for 2-12 Sept., there is now some flexibility in dates.
Again, PM me if interested.
