My Rifle At JJ's Shop

After several months of waiting my rifle is "up to bat"

at www.champlinarms.com in JJ's shop. In a couple more

months it will be back with me. Better trigger pulls,

warthog ivory forward sight, platinum line on rear sight,

case colors reapplied to action body and some reblueing

too, like on the top lever, and the firing pins to be

worked on so that they don't stick in fired cartridge

primers are the issues. I am excited about shooting once

again. These old UK built DR's really to have a bit of

magic for me.

Does he use the Belgian method of an arsenic bath for the colours?

Or does he use the British method of packing?

I would not want the Arsenic bath on an English rifle.

JJ's uses traditional demographic methods on each gun he works on.

ALWAYS double the time he says it will take to get your gun done...he is very good but very backed up

I called him today and he said he'd use
the English packing method on my rifle.
What's not to love!?!? I'll live through
"backed-up". And I am sure the quality
he produces is the direct cause.

Cap,

It means that he uses the same traditional methods that were used in any particular firearms birthplace, unless specified by the customer otherwise.

Good Idea Roscoe. I'll do my best with pic's. I

failed to shoot "BEFORE" shots. Maybe G. Caswell

has the ones he used in the "for sale" posting

on his web site. I will shoot close ups of the work

that JJ completes for sure!
