anyone have an interesting chambering?

I have but one double, which is a 470 NE. I see posts by folks who have 3" 450/400's and an occasional 500 NE, but anything truly unusual out there? I guess most who might qualify would have older guns. Or maybe everyone has the same rifle as I do. It still might be interesting to see the mix!

I have an original Jeffery 450#2 double. It points like a fine double shotgun and will print 4 shots into 1 inch at 50 yrds.-Rob

I have a .369 Purdy. It is alive when you touch it and sends shivers up and down your spine when you point it. One of only 72 ever made.

Rob
I too have a 450 No2. Mine is an Edwinson Green and Sons, but Green must have got the action, bbls and sights from Jeffery as it is identical to other Jefferys I have seen. What loads do you use in it?

I have a J&W Tolley set up for the NA&A 50/450 3-1/2" Magnum BPE.

First I'd ever heard of that cartridge too.
Looks like Marraki's Tolley might have been set up for that one too.

The 50/450 magnum is very similar to the 450#2 NE, except that it precedes it by fifteen or so years and has a thinner rim and more powder room.
Turn the rim thinner on a 450#2 NE case and it'll chamber.
OAL is somewhere in the 4.300" range depending on what bullet I'm going to use, haven't regulated this rifle yet.

I'm using virgin 450#2 brass as donor brass to work with for my gun.

Rarest chambering I have in a double is the 20-bore/.577 Express, by Alexander Henry. Holland & Holland claimed this cartridge as their own in turn-of-the-century catalogues, but the true cogniscente know the truth! I think I have the only double so-chambered in Australia; only knew of one other and it went off to the US when we were flogging-off our double-rifle heritage a few years ago.

Sounds like my Tolley might be a rare one too, thanks for the enlightenment there Tinker!

In singles, I have a .500/.450 No.1 Carbine, one of Westley Richards' improved Martinis. Its a 'sleeper', very nice!

...but my favourite cartridge is the .577 x 2 3/4 Light Nitro! Older forum members will have already been treated to my opinion on this chambering!
