NitroX gave me permission to extend this special to NitroExpress.com members
I receveived the hunting rights to 2 extra concessions in North West Namibia recently, making my total land area available to hunt in NW Namibia about 2 million acres, (3 areas total). To celebrate this, I have a real special deal for NE members, wanting to hunt Namibia. I will post more details of the areas and some photos soon.
The hunt can be arranged for 12, 10 or 8 days, of which 2 is travelling days, and the rest is hunting days. The 12 day deal can be done in 1 or all the concessions, the 10 day in 2 concessions, and the 8 day in 1 concession only.
The prices will be as follows: 12 day deal 1x1 hunt 3000 2x1 hunt 4500 (2250/ hunter) Observer 1000
10 day deal 1x1 hunt 2600 2x1 hunt 3900 (1950/ hunter) Observer 850
8 day deal 1x1 hunt 2100 2x1 hunt 3150 (1575/ hunter) Observer 700
Above includes: Transport into area and back to Windhoek by road, all hunting fees, licences, services of a PH/ his hunting vehcile/ hunting staff/ camp staff, food/ drinks/ accomodation in moveable tented camps for the duration as specified, transport of trophies back to Windhoek after the quarintine period. It does not include any trophy fees, accomodation- and travel arrangements before or after the safari, taxidermy costs, or any other personal extra.
Likely itinerary will look like this: Day one: Pick up form airport (Windhoek), drive through Damaraland into Puros area (or whatever area hunter selects) Hunt for 6, 8, or 10 days in 1, 2 or 3 areas (depending on package taken), Last day: Drive back through Etosha (or straight back, if client so prefers.)
Trophy fees will also be reduced from normal rates, and will be as follows:
Species (US$) (Area availability) baboon 50 RU, P black faced impala 1800 Uu crocodile 2800 RU duiker 250 RU eland 1600 Uu elephant POR RU, Uu giraffe 2000 P hyena (spotted) 400 Uu, P jackal 50 P kudu 900 All lion POR P oryx 650 Uu, P ostrich 400 All red hartebeest 700 Uu springbok 300 P, Uu steenbok 300 P zebra (Burchell) 950 Uu zebra (Hartmann) 950 P
RU = Ruacana-Ukolonkhadi Uu = Uukwaluudi P = Puros All = all above areas
It is a great deal for someone starting their hunting career in Africa, as well as for the more experienced hunters, as the Puros area is such a unique area, and very unlike other areas available for hunting in Africa. Please feel free to PM or email me if you have more questions.

This looks like a great deal to me. I would be in it like a flash if I was looking for a Southern African plains game hunt in 2008.
I have hunted with Karl in a couple of areas in Namibia and Karl runs a good competent professional operation.
Namibia is also a great value area to hunt plains game.
I think on the list above the black faced impala, steenbok, Hartmann's zebra, giraffe and crocodile would help fill out my 'bag'. Though something like kudu and eland I could be enticed to take again.

I think its a great deal!!
If I wanted a PG hunt it would be terrific. I know a fellow that hunted with Karl and who gives him his highest praise!!
If I weren't bogged down by all the costs of practice/family et all I would love to do this!!
Are hippos possible?? How big are the crocs??

hoppdoc, I think I saw you on the airport. Did you hunt with Andries Smit? We waited together for our clients the day I think you flew in. I have not hunted croc there yet, but have seen a few very nice ones sunning themselfs. I recon over 12 feet will be entirely possible.
Anyway, here's some more info on the areas, plus a map. (THe blue marked areas in the NW are the areas under discussion.)
Of the 3 areas, two are bordering each other and starts north of Etosha, then run all the way up to the Kunene River. (Uukwaluudi (Uu) and Ruacana-Uukolonkahdi (R-U)). The third area (Puros (P)) is approximately 150 miles away, running from the Giraffe Mountains in the East to right on the Skeleton Coast in the West. While the top 2 areas receive rainfall of 400-500 mm of rain per year, and consist mostly of scrub mopane, Puros receives less than 100mm, and is true Namib Desert. It is also here that the research on desert lions was conducted a few years ago. The sizes of the areas are as follows: Puros = 356 800 ha (881 296 acres) unfenced Ruacana-Uukolonkahdi = 299 300 ha (739 271 acres) unfenced Uukwaluudi = 143 700 ha (354 939 acres), mostly unfenced, but with a camp of 15 000 acres for reintroduction of scarce species (like black faced impala) in the southern most corner. Game availability per area are as in my original post, with possible hippo, elephant, croc, lion, leopard and cheetah being added as a problem animal if such an opportunity arises.
Accommodation will be in tented camps, with ablution facilities (hot water and flush toilets) within 5 yards of each client’s tent. Any of the stated animals, except trophy elephant and lion, may be hunted on the package deal. (Crocodile only on the 12 day deal, problem animals as they are available.) I have on trophy elephant left for 2008, in the 2 Nortern areas, at US$ 22 000, icluding a professionally DVD of your hunt.

Some pictures of Puros
Black Rhino

Puros holds close to 4000 gemsbok

There is not a huge kudu population, because its a true desert, but some very nice ones are around.

Spectacular springbok

My favourite, some Hartmann's zebra

2 pictures to give an idea of the terrain.

Mark, yes they have CITES tags. I am unsure about ANYTHING to Australia, will find out for you. (As far as I know, you are not allowed to import elephant, but croc I honestly do not know.) JabaliHunter, I am not sure what you mean by best time, do you mean most popular? I have shot very good trophies of both right through the trophy hunting season, which runs from February to November in Namibia. The cooler months, end April to end August are most pleasant though. It heats up a lot after that, but I did have a group of Spaniards shoot 289 springbok last November, so it can be done effectively the whole season.

Karl,
The other animal that interests me that isn't on your list is the Waterbuck. Is this species available on these hunts? Thanks for you time.
Cheers, Mark.

Mark, unfortunately tehre is none available in this specific areas to hunt. You could hunt them on the way in or out though, as your entry and department point would be Windhoek, where I can help you with watrebuck.

Karl,
My wife and I would be extremely interested in a 10 or 12 day 2x1 PG hunt in 2009. Would love to make it this year, but I will still be in Iraq. I would definitely like to get more information for next year's hunting season. The wife and I spending the hunt together and the whole experience would rank higher than the total number of animals each of us brought to bag.
