If I was to become a Ph in Africa I think I would try Sudan.
It has always been a great Country for animals and the lack of many English speaking PHs would be a definite plus.
Lots of plains game, lots of Elephants and the PH requirements are not a s stringent as in some other, more popular Countries where there are as many PHs as hunters.
Good Luck

Getting the initial experience and the first licence is the biggest problem for an overseas hunter...... it's difficult but not impossible. Hell, I did it for myself, so there's no reason you can't do it if you're willing to work hard enough and be determined enough. I've just helped a young Brit take his first steps in the industry. He just completed his first season as an apprentice PH/roadbuilder/truck mechanic etc.
Feel free to e mail me at shakari3@mweb.co.za if you need further guidance. - Don't use the e-mail address in my signature as that goes to the office. The address above is to my personal laptop.
I'll be happy to give you advice and guidance etc to help you along the way, but don't expect me to give you a job!

A weird peace of advice, Mike
We are now piling troops in Chad along the Sudanese border to take over the Sudanese province, the Darfour.
In a couple of months, no doubts that a whiteskinned dude could have plenty of vivid adventures in Sudan.
In the past it was still tricky, just ask ErikD!
Mike, are You joking

Mickey,
Very funny. I wondered about your post too.
The ability to spell and proper grammar might be a 'first step' in writing introductory letters ...
