**I am guessing the elephant thought the ethics of his shot were spot on.

I have actually caught both deer and elk in that moment.. will not shoot while LOVE is in action,, but once its over and he is one I want... the safety clicks off....

I wouldn't shoot while Big Boy was in the act...

Thinking about the ethics - one consideration would be that if you took a brain shot and the bull collapsed, there is a pretty fair chance that you could inadvertantly cripple the cow. I saw a good BBC documentary once where a smallish cow was injured by the weight of a very large bull doing his business...

Yes, she did have trouble walking!

While he is catching his breath seems like the perfect time to me. (although I must admit to no experience shooting elephants, satiated or otherwise)

All the best, Ian.

I enjoyed the video, which tender and romantic is the bull elephant.

My father caught some foxes (noxious pests here) at it, took a pot shot with his pea rifle and missed. The foxes cleared off over a stony rise and were at it again when Dad came around the barrier, where he shot AT them again. He was getting on then and either his shooting had gone off or he was getting soft in his old age.

The only wildlife I see carrying on like this are harlequin bugs, which I give no quarter because the yard's full of the tomato-sucking critters already.
