We all enjoy Doubles and no doubt look and handle all we can--
Which rifle is the next one you are scheming to purchase to add to your firearm collection?
Are you going to sell one to make room for another Double?
We know what Double Curl likes!! He has already secured his handsome prize.

Another Chapuis UGEX except...color case action & 7 X 65R chambering. It is on order and should be here in another 2 or 3 months. I figure that my 9.3 will be more than sufficient to whack anything large I might be tempted to shoot, and the 7 X 65R will be more in line with deer, etc. Plus it should cost less to shoot, and recoil will also be less so shooting will be even more enjoyable. I chose to replicate the Chapuis as it appears to be one of the "best buys" in entry level doubles. The alternatives I considered were the Siace and the Merkel. I've handled the Merkel, and viewed photos of the Siace, but elected to buy what I have handled. Pilgrim

I am torn between a Heym 450/400 and a 9.3x74R Double with a qd scope on either one. Can't decide and can't afford both--Maybe some day!!
Love to have a Webley vintage Double but the finances of elder care, teenybopper care, a medical practice and a household rule that out!!Retirement is coming my way in a decade as well.Time moves on relentlessly--

Doc - I'll have a few 450/400s on display at Dallas and Reno, or call me and I'll ship one for you to look over. Will also have the 450 NE 3.25" (regulated with Hornady ammo) on display.

450/400 Evolution, basically Chapuis 450/400. Then maybe a 577 2 3/4 Searcy underlever, but cant justify a 21,000 dollar fun gun. If I got those 2 that would double my doubles!

Without context, I see how that could be perceived as aggressive. That wasn't the intent.
I got Dave his current Merkel and have long been aware of his lust for a 450/400. I was just taunting him a bit with the photo.

In doubles, I've got: An O/U boxlock in 470 Several PH rifles in 450/400, 450, 470, 500, etc... some with claw mounts and interchangable shotgun bbls. And a bulino engraved sidelock 600.

Chris is a really a great guy! He is very knowlegible re: Doubles as well.
If there is anyway to close a deal he will consider it!!
After that retort he must want to send me a Double on a lend-lease plan!! Sounds like there's hope after all!!

Rigby or Gibbs boxlock .350 No. 2 with a claw mounted scope. I don't really need another, and am not a collector, but that's the only one I've ever really had a desire for that I don't have.

What a crazy journey the past three years has been. Me, dreaming of a Kodiak double muzzle loader in .58 caliber whilst mowing the lawn, and winding up with three fine pre-war British double rifles.
There will NOT be another DR in my forseeable future as I've managed to assemble a decent collection. One should not be greedy.
But (and there is allways a but), I'd love to have a .577 BPE or .577 2 3/4".

Twelve-bore double paradox, or a 12-bore howdah-rifle, is high on my wish-list at the moment.
But you never know what the future will offer.....

I'll second the 12ga Paradox, but a 20ga Fuanetta would be fine too!! Something that I can use here at my local hunting spots, which are all within our "shotgun only" zone.

It's great to hear of modern doubles in 450/.400 and that Hornady make ammo that even sounds affordable. When I finally get a db rifle, that could do it for me.
