Ran across this Winchester Double conversion while cruisn gun sites--
Very Interesting!!

A converted Model 12 to 470 NE with a third bite fastener for $16K-- wonder if it was tested/proofed??
A model 12 reciever should be plenty tough but who knows??

Hopp,
I think you mean "Model 21".
Somehow I couldn't envision a Model 12 cycling with .470 NE in the magazine!

Interesting but considering you can buy a brand new DR by a known maker for less than that do you think it will sell ?

It's way overpriced, but will last a long time.

Whups!!!
Sorry for the typo. Indeed,21, not 12 is correct.
I would love to have a Mdl 21 Shotty but they are always real pricey.
Great gun though--

I have seen this gun in person. The owner has had if for sometime so he might be willing to deal.

Tony Galazan's Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing are due to introduce a double rifle on a strengthened version of the Winchester 21 action in 470 and 500 NE. They would have launched earlier but the huge success of their new shotgun designs has kept them busy.
We shall have the news here first when they launch.
Good hunting!

That's why I wouldn't want the .470 conversion advertised above. Many years ago Winchester made a M21 prototype or two in .405. It was said that the project was abandoned due to the strength issues encountered. I imagine Galazan has figured out how to address those issues.
