CHAMPION freestyler Libby Lenton yesterday stepped off the blocks to fire the first shots ahead of next year's Beijing Olympic Games.
Lenton and fellow Olympic hopefuls took time out from their relay camp at the Australian Institute of Sport to try their hand at pistol shooting in Canberra.
"It was a bit of an experience today shooting a few real guns," said Lenton, who admitted she was out of her depth on the shooting range.
"But days like today are a chance to change things up and try something different and a bit of team building."
Australia's top female swimmers have gathered at the AIS for a four-day camp, which ends today, to focus on their relay training for next year's Games.
Paul, the poster said it is a Kutchenrouter pistol but only the lock was primed, the barrel left unloaded for the photo.
