I'd worry about seeing the Proof Marks
before worrying about the pitting.

Empire

You need to learn to look for the Obvious.

Look at the fore end fasterner.

Now we know that rules were always broken with English Guns but the fasterner being like it is Stood out like a dogs dick
as being a Black Powder gun and early manufacture.

The other ones that caught my eye were it looks like Non Rebounding hammers, and it looks quite a lightly built gun.

It was only then I realised you had said 450 NITRO !!!

I would be VERY suspect about this gun.

I kinda thought this post was a joke pryse (pri cey) 450. There have been a number of guns misrepresented on gun broker and overpriced. Whether the sellers are aware of their mistakes, quien sabe.

That gun has been messed with. The checkering has been badly re cut near back of the pistol grip. The action finish don't match the condition of the locks. No good pics of the action. Looks as if it was polished and torched. One part looks 80% next to another that is 10%. The first thing a buyer would want to see is the barrel flats and water table . Looks like he avoided tacking pics. of the action.

I did wonder about the look of it, but i never trust my doubts anyway so end of story!

Everybody is bidding on it just the same-i know something is wrong anyway, as its only just been won at J.C. Devine, they assured me it was a fully marked up nitro actually!!!!!!!!

Nigel-you mean you wouldnt even want it if i bought it and offered it to you for as little as $20,000?

Empire,

Sorry, I will have to decline your wonderful offer.

Thanks all the same.

I have plenty of guns to buy ATM without looking any further afield.

Now to finish, I'll actually get round to looking at and playing with my Webley, Screw Grip, Cased Boxlock Ejector
in 375 Flanged Magnum in the next day or so !

Would you like me to email a picture !!!!!!!!!!!

I can hear you squirming from here !
