Oops, I did it again!

Well, I found a Miroku over/under double rifle in 9.3x74R for a price I couldn't resist.
She is about 20 years old, tight as a bank vault and weighs 3.3 kg. She has ejectors and a single trigger. Her action is that of a 20ga shotgun (less metal than the B25 version).

I tried her yesterday with RWS UNI classic (the only ammo I had lying around), and she produced a 4 inch 10 shot group at 50m. I hope this will improve with other ammo.

Can anybody tell me more of this rifle? It's a copy of a Browning model, but which one? What's the history behind the Browning/Miroku relationship?

Regulation is done via a wedge between the barrels

This piece of wood is screwed to the barrels to cover the space with the fore-end.

Vey nice and should be a great little rifle.

Miroku makes most of the Browning rifles and shotguns now. They also market the identical stuff in a lot of Countries (including Aus) under there own name.

That is a sweet looking gun. Does it have provision in the quarter rib for scope rings? Rusty Z

No. If I want to add a scope, the rib will have to be milled. I have a scope on my Blaser S2, but I'm not going to scope this one. I have read on this forum that scoping it will probably mess up the regulation.

Nighthawk

I have scoped 2 doubles, a 9,3x74R Chapuis, and a 450/400 3 1/4" British double.

Regulation was not effected in any way.

Sometimes it does happen, I have been told, but several people I know have scoped their doubles with out problem.

I think ANY double .40cal and under should be scoped [with QD mounts of course].

Ssshhh, this kind of statement can get you in serious trouble!

This gun will only be used on driven hunts, so ranges are mostly very short. I love my Swarovski Z6i on my Blaser, but I think I will try my luck with the standard sights on this one. I have allready tried shooting steel plates off a moving skateboard, and that went pretty well.

Any additional information on Miroku guns is still welcome!
