Sorry for the post placement,

Shepherd has been cleared of all charges, and is free.

I for one am glad indeed, and i am not surprised either, what were the police thinking at all???

All a bit suspect if you ask me..........

Ben

Ben,

This is excellent news indeed! U wush he takes time to sue the British government and every yellow rag from the Murdoch owned Times to the B0110cks and HB^11$h1t Corporation for slandering him. When I read the enws about him on the BBC, I could hardly believe that this was the same propaganda outfit that did an Izvestia or Pravda in doing a U turn after claiming, when Mick was arrested, that he had "illegal M 16 rifles" (they were Armi Jaeger 22 lrs) and "automatic pump action shotguns."

I wish he treats the scum in the media the way they deserve to be treated - with a hard punch to their bank balances.

Thanks for posting this excellent news and good hunting!

Welcome Mehul...

It is indeed a great thing, and justice has prevailed.

Anyone can see the chap is just another fellow gun lover.....and an eccentric, the last thing in the world one would match him to is hoodlums!

Its a twisted farce designed to get rid of UK gunsmiths with the idea that it will "end all gun crime" and such bosh...

There was a smith back in Cornwall at the top end quite a way away from me, i called him to speak about the usual shotgun stuff selling/buying of one i think, and he told me he had had his license taken by the police under very dubious circumstances(yes i know i know, i always come up with these stories but they are just recounts from an interest of many years) anyway he either disagreed to something daft, or was it something about having said the local commissioner wasnt doing his job right.......anyway license gone, court case opened i think....

A gunsmith 'mason type association might be in order.

TTT...

Just searching used doubles online, and found this bloke, then this thread.

Has anybody bought doubles from Mick before? Are the ones on his website (www.micksguns.com) currently, in the same price range as a new Sabatti (in the US) would be, too worn and corroded? What do you think: If a fellow's budget is about that of a new Sabatti (in the US) would he be best going with a Sabatti? Or do older English doubles (in buffalo stopper calibres) occasionally come-up for that price in good condition? My gut instinct tells me that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Hi Ben,
I have purchased a nice Sidelock Drilling from Mick a while back before his legal ordeal. Nice guy, gun as described, worked with me on delivery & it was a very pleasant deal. Take a look around his website as his legal ordeal is one that we should all read. ( he got screwed & hope he counter sues & ends up on top for what they put him through!) He has some very interesting stuff, most not top shelf but useable! When I called he answered the phone and represented the gun accurately and is very knowledgable on a lot of gun types.

I have tried to e.mailed to him , but the emails bounce back. He had or have a Rigby .22 Rookrifle I was interested in. I have also called him on his phonenumber a few times, but the phone wasn`t turned on?.

If I should judge him upon his inventory and mind for business, there wouldn`t be much to say, wouldn`t there?.

In general his guns looks crappy, but his prices is ofcouse low too.

All I know about Mick is that I emailed him and received a prompt and curteous reply with helpful information. That speaks well of him in my book.
