bullet molds for gauge guns..where?
      #81492 - 29/06/07 11:59 PM

I am looking for someone who could makeup a bulletmolds in .775cal(10 bore).

I know doublerifles are sensitive to bulletweights, other than they were regulated for....but i wonder if much could happen if i had a bulletmold made up to do +900grain rather than the normal 875grain the 10 bore was normally regulated with??

One of the finest mold and sight makers in the World is right on my doorstep. His name is Mike Newmann and his molds and sights are used extensively in international black powder competition. Would be happy to get him to quote you if you want. Also, if your ten gauge is black powder, don't forget that you are playing with linear pressure on ignition. That will put your barrels in danger of bulging or blowing if you inrease the weight too much. My experience is that you should stick to the recommended weights on BP.

NEI 'tooldyne' lists several 10 bore moulds - at least 3 different weights.

I know....all ready got two from them. One in 900grain and another in 1080grain.

NEI makes very good molds....I have cast a few slugs now...they look great!!.

Still waiting for champlin Firearms to ship my 10 bore Double....

You could also try Veral Smith of LBT. Veral makes about any size, any shape you want - sent a picture/drawing with measurements and final weight and that's what you'll get - providing he's still doing this work - I think he is. You can find his business info at http://www.castbulletassoc.org/forum/view_category.php?id=2I'll edit this to check the web address.
