Hello
Late last night I headed off to bed and found Jimmy curled up on the cold concrete in the bathroom. He was bleak with Anne for re-arranging his straw bed and decided to rebel. Once roused, he must have realized how cold he was and he spent the rest of the night on the carpet in my room. First time I've had a rhino share my room. Jimmy has been sulking all day, because Anne has been really busy the last couple of days and hasn't given him the attention he feels he deserves. For the first time in quite a while, he butted me around a little. Then he made the mistake of taking on Roger Whittall. Never have I seen two more hard-headed characters have a go at each other. Hope Roger never gets to see this post. Anyhow, Roger has the advantage of experience and Jimmy retreated reluctantly after receiving a stern warning. The only one who Jimmy didn't try to beat up today was his little companion Mhuru the calf, who features in many of the pictures below. Now that is true love. This evening, Jim began chilling out a bit, during and after a walk with Anne. He is hilarious on these walks, plodding along and getting left behind, and then suddenly realizing he is alone and breaking into an unlikely gallop. He is very short-sighted and these gallops could end in disaster for anyone walking up front. Anne was almost bowled over today, as you'll be able to see from one of the photos below. I think I'll call that one 'anticipating impact'. Tomorrow, I am off hunting in Chewore for two weeks. When I return, I'll send you more on the extraordinary life of Jimmy. I shall be posting a RWS 2007 mid season trophy gallery in a while. Hope you enjoy the Jimmy and friends pictures, as well as the trophies.
Take care
Dave

David,
Despite the sad circumstances that landed Jimmy with you guys, he is clearly in the hands of people who really care for him, and will do their best to raise him. Please keep us updated on his progress.

Yes, please keep the story up to date as time goes on. I really enjoy the photos and comments. What an amazing "pet"!
What is the plan for "Jimmy" when he gets a bit bigger? Breeding enclosure?

So Dave, you left the poor baby to sleep on the floor? Why didn't you just have Jimmy climb into bed with you?
