Same as mine!! I'm ordering 200 rounds a.s.a.p. (Do you know if Marty uses brass 20ga. cases or plastic?) Brass would be much prefered.

Plastic

I'd try a few first as they may need to be tweaked a bit.

You mean the cases, the load, or both?

The load.

The Faunetta cartridges I have are paper so plastic should be about the same size.

what part of the states are you in? It sounds like a pretty straight forward repair, depending on how bad it is, often times a reblue is not needed. I can lift a mild dent in my shop while a customer waits. Lots of guys out there that could help you out on this type of repair.

not at all, unless hes going to reblue the barrells too. Typical dent removal in my shop is 60$, bad dent could go more, maybe up to 125$. A rerust blue is 275$ in my shop.....400$ only if it is very bad and needs a reblue. Try Mike Orlean in Mass...he can be contacted through the doublegunshop.com bbs can fix you right up, hes an excellent smith, very fast and very reasonable.

I need to get the gun from the safe, but I have a 28 bore marked Explora, but only proof marks and no maker. The gun is a single shot break action just like a single shot shotgun. The barrel is only rifled in the last 1/3 of the barrel, starting shallow and increasing in depth. i have a bullet mold that came wit hthe gun. They weighed in at 470 grains with a little tin added to the lead. the rifle has a pistol grip, nice wood, horn plate in the rear and express sights (one standing and three folding). Any ideas? The gun is not here at my current home. I have kept it in a larger atomsphere controled / fire proof safe in a better location along with my Mannlicher rifles.

Explora is a Westley trade name for their 12 bore and larger rifled choke guns. They referred to their 20 and smaller as Fauneta's. The gun does sound intriguing. I would have to believe if it is a 28 it would be a pretty rare bird even if it is not a double. Please post more info when it becomes available.

Will do. I will take pictures when time allows. I did kill a feral pig with the gun the year i bought it. Made a bloody mess out of one side. The bullets were from my mould, but drilled to have hollow points. They were loaded by the former owner. The sights are 50y, 100y, 150y, and 200y. I thought that strange also. Not a bad gun for $650. It does say London proof under the barrel.

Oh good. Just make sure you have enough lead time, it takes a while to get them in your hands..
