Getting them out is the problem.

Even black powder ones?

Arent they obsolete everywhere now?

Obsoletes can be sent via post and all sorts......if my memory serves me well.

I noticed a few are on to this already......dealers at least if not others too.

Guns have been exported from India to Australia for years
so nothing new.

I have been told it is just hard to get them out.

Doesn't concern me either way as I have enough DR's
and if I want more I'll buy them from people I know
or the UK / US as tooo many people have been burnt
buying sight unseen from India.

Getting any rifle into the US built post 1898 is a nightmare. Even after you get ATF authority, you need to get it past customs, who does things at their own pace. Sometimes fast, sometimes glacial. Dave

dnovo

It's not that hard. I buy guns over here for a mate in the US
who has my US Based DR's (he collects a specific name) and it's only a bit of paperwork, a bit of waiting.

Never had a problem at his end with customs andthe only other time I have shipped a Nitro gun over to Montana, it all went like clockwork.

I think I know your importer in Montana, and if it is who I think he is, a very nice man to deal with. I had a gun come in from Switzerland using him and it went well.

The problem I had with customs was with my Martini & Hagn Single Shot. The ATF permit was not an issue and the problem was it sat in mail/customs for two and a half months after it entered the US without anyway to find out where it was. ATF finally tracked it down as a courtesy (it was shipped registered so it had to be signed for every step of the way) and the problem turned out to be that nobody had notified the post to deliver it. My problem was a complete lack of information available from customs and/or the post as to status on a gun I had waited a long time to have built and delivered.

On the other hand, it is everything I expected and more.

But, I would love to find some nice DRs down your way. If you have some you could locate or some in hand, please drop me a note. Dave

I have imported a few rifles and shotguns from overseas. Aside from the wait for the approval from ATF it is quite simple.
