375 Belted convert to 375 Flanged?

Could a DR in 375 Belted be converted/rechambered to 375 Flanged ??

I asked this question a long time ago and the answer is yes, with some effort. The cases are not identical so you'd need a chamber sleeving. Not a major job for man who knows what he is doing.

However, it begs the question, why: Pressure or extraction?

I have a Merkel .375 and have reduced the loads to flanged level. Still shoots great.

Pressure or extraction? Both. Your solution of "downloading" probably makes the most sense.

There are just a lot more DR's in 375 Belted than Flanged, just toying with the idea. Any idea about the cost to do the chamber sleeving?

My WAG is $300 each plus extractor work. The smith would first ream out the chamber in a cone shape, then glue in a 4140 plug already bored to .375 and then ream the chamber as if it were new.

I have spoken to JJ about doing it.
