Very impressive wheelgun, but Howdah, it isn't. As far as being the "Largest", it fails there as well. This one is a mere 20 bore while even the se by side 16 was larger and the 12, of course, is larger than the .700 Nitro express.

Should anyone in the US be interested, good luck getting it past the ATF.
Nothing in a modern handgun over 50 cal shall pass the "sporting uses" bureaucy test.

Now a 577 Webley-Pryse, that's OK since it's an antique.

The revolver gives off 4589 ft.lbs of energy. The encore gives off 5571 ft.lbs of energy. For what it's worth, (not much I know) it is still 20% more power than the 600 revolver.

Hmm.

Exactly what is it that you despise by the way, the 600NE , or shooting elephants?

Yep a paragraph from the website. Full paragraph below:

Quote:

The .600 Nitro Express bullet was originally developed in 1899 for the big game hunters who went to Africa with the intention of killing Elephants, something that I despise by the way. Even though H&H no longer manufacture these cartridges they can still be sought through the gun trade, small reloading companies or even over the internet.

It would indeed be a brave (and suicidal) member to claim he despises either Nitro Express cartridges or elephant hunting or both, on this website.

I was just quoting the website - sorry for the misunderstanding!

That said, upon reflection, I support elephant hunting, not elephant shooting. That's what poachers with AK-47s do.
