Falling block doubles?

Where there ever falling block doubles (I feel sure there were).

It seems like it'd be easier to build a strong falling block double than a break action one.

...i should think that if you spent some time with break-open doubles you would quickly come to the conclusion that the essential design remains superior - even after 100+ years - to other competing actions insofar as doubles are concerned (in terms of barrel regulation, transportation, cleaning, storage, reloading, maintenance, etc.)...

...tho a falling block makes for a superior single shot, and remains so even after 100+ years...

...just my humble opinion...

Hagn makes one, or at least they made a few quite recently.

Have also seen a German double with a rolling block action, was around the NY gun shows a couple of years ago, it was an 8x57R or a 9.3x74R, looked a bit odd but handled well enough, well known maker, don't recall the name. Saw the Hagn double drop block at the Reno show a few years ago, both barrels made from one piece of steel, quite a stunt although Whitworth did it 150 years ago with his percussion double hex bore rifles.
