Another Double in a movie is in Born Free. The opening scene has George Adams tracking a man eater in northern Kenya and then shoots the lion with what looks like a 450/400.

Butch Searcy built two that appeared in one of the Jurraisic Park movies. I believe they were in 700 NE.

Grizzly,

Pretty sure that they were in 600 NE and the one that they used/carried the most in the movie was made out of rubber and weighed about 5 lbs vs 15 lbs for the 600's.

They were 600NE's.

The director has one of them, not sure who the
got the other one but they are still around.

And Ron Collings did the engraving in a line etching technique so as to represent a rifle from the turn of the century. Ron told me that when I was talking to him about engraving on the .577 Butch was building for us.

There are a number of doubles in the BBC mini series "The Flame Trees of Thika" (excellent show and book BTW, gives good insight into colonial British East). From the look of them they are British and medium bore, box lock, possibly an Army and Navy 450 NE. If you really want to see a lot of doubles, rent the Canadian TV series "The lost world". They use doubles exclusively, both back action hammer Jones underlever 450 BPE's and late model box locks of some sort. Interestingly, the show is filmed in OZ, in the northern territory. Also in the 2 hour mini series of same, Lord Roxton carries a Jeffreys 500NE, and comments, "..can drop a charging bull elephant at a 100 yards."
