I'm in the final planning stages of booking a hunt in Namibia with the "Leopard Lodge" near Windhoeke for July 2008. My primary animal is a Leopard (what else). As part of my investigation ( I have a list of references from the U.S. booking agent) does anyone have information on or hunted with this safari company? Any info, good / bad is greatly appreciated.
I dont know this outfitter, maybe is this: http://www.leopardlodge.com/hunting.html But, also for my personal experience, I know that the leopard hunting on the bait in Namibia is very difficult with a very low success rate. Some outfitters now they are using the hounds and the hunt seems more successful.
I will second Mario in saying if your trophy goal is a leopard you should hunt somewhere other than Namibia. Yes, they can be had there but the best way is behind hounds and not baited hunts. You don't state which method you will be hunting by.
I don't know the safari company you mention but leopard is one of the most difficult animals to collect. I know of many people who have spent three and four 14 day safaris and still have not bagged one.
Good luck on your hunt, I hope you get one, Namibia is a beautiful country.
