308 loads for a krieghoff classic

would any of the surplus 308 ammo be suitable or would pressures be to high thankyou

I would not shoot any surplus ammo through a expensive gun

Welcome to NitroExpress.com. Someone here can help you with almost anything.

You need to shoot the bullet and velocity the rifle was regulated for. Just picking up any bullet weight in the proper caliber will not work. Shooting any kind of monolithic solids is a poor idea in a Double because of the soldering of the barrels together. There are always exceptions but why worry about them if you don't need to. Plenty of 308 loads around.

What is the rifle regulated for?

thanks mick,my thoughts are to buy a krieghoff classic with9.3x74 and 308 barrels. the classic i read has a jack screw for regulation, and was thinking of practiceing with convienent,inexpensive, low recoil ammo.having not bought the rifle i dont know what they regulate with,but thought i may be able to change regulation.thanks again

In that case disregard the bullet weight and velocity issue.

I would still stay away from monolithic solids though.

I wouldn't think so. Isn't that a pretty standard load for the 308?
