I know it is not "classic" but any experience with the Krieghoff See-Though Sights?
Their website: www.krieghoff.com and click on optics/sights.
I like the fact that so much of the target/game is not blocked from view.

I guess Krieghoff's and/or their sights aren't very popular among our members.

Interesting! No first-hand experience, though.

BTW, I wouldn't be pressing the trigger with that sight alignment, unless I was wearing a nappy!

Good one Marrakai! Off by at least a foot. One lost ele coming up.
Arizona
I have "looked" at one of the see-through sights. I prefer the standard solid shallow V. I think the open V is distracting and slows down shot placement.
But I have never used one in the field. I know of only one member here who has an open V krieghof double rifle.
The best idea is to get hold of a rifle with a normal V and one of the above and see what your own opinion is.

I have not tried the Krieghoff sight, but I must say I strongly dislike the fiber optic sights. The front sight looks bigger or smaller in different light situations. It causes the shot placement to walk around quite a bit. I would avoid at all cost.

I would bet they're much more fragile than a solid blade as well. I wonder how strong those corners are - looks like a good nock would collapse the cut outs!

what is a nappy?
It is something required in connection with the consumption of large quantities of vegimite.

Klaus,
Good to see you chime in. The member I referred to whom I said I knew had a Krieghof with this sight was you.
How do you find it on hunt's with fast target acquisition? Same as a solid V sight, faster, or just different?
Thanks.

DT has nailed it!
A pair of runners would be good, too!

I'm new to DG hunting. Have my 470.....guess I need "a nappy and some runners". This sounds like lots of fun!

DT: I'd prefer trainers or runners over the humble sand-shoe or gym-shoe any day...
It would be a moot point with a more realistic sight-picture, though!
