Martini and Hagn, stock preview.
      #72415 - 24/02/07 01:43 PM

I got these pictures today from my favorite German gunmakers. I thought they interpreted my desire for strong grain flow layout with deep and muted contrast nearly perfectly. I just can't wait for this 300 Win. Mag. to show up on April. I am headed to Namibia this summer to blood it well.

What do you guys think?

Josh

Perfect! Too bad Hagn couldn't find that birch blank for you though. Dangit, just when a plan was coming together.

Seriously, though, that is a fantastic looking piece of timber to me. I'll take your word for the grain flow, the camera flash wipes it out for us. It does look gorgeous!

Good on you.

Dave

Josh,

What do we think? That you;re a gentleman of fine taste and we hope you'll remember to post hunt pictures here after your safari.

Congratulations on a magnificent rifle! Good hunting!

Thanks, guys. If Ralf and Martin have it right and the rifle shows up here by 31 May, I may actually have fired 1000 rounds by the time I leave for Namibia with Karl Stumpfe in Aug. We'll see. I have been processing brass and shooting offhand ML matches to get prepared. I can barely sleep nights thinking about the rifle and Africa.

When is my plane ticket for Namibia supposed to show up?

What all are you hoping to hunt?

Dave, I am betting Karl could work you in if you want to go. Aug. 13th is the day I fly out. Gemsbok, Kudu and 12 Springbok (10 culls) are first on the list and Karl is holding a Hartmann's zebra on his allotment for me if we find a good stallion. Hartebeest and Eland if we find good ones. I am guessing that will fill up the 14 days of hunting.

Sounds like a good hunt. I'm sure it will be an outstanding time.

I guess I'm still trying to stay focused on the MP sheep hunt at present though, so I better pass, even though you are offering an all expense paid trip, right?

Absolutely its all expense paid and as soon as we get done in Africa you are going to take me for Marco Polo, right? (grin)
