.375 RUM
      #71839 - 18/02/07 09:40 AM

I was talking to a gunstoreownwer a little while ago and suddenly he said the magical words

"I have a rifle that you might like, its what you are after for the trips youre planning"

So i have now ordered a Remington XCR in .375 Remington Ultra Magnum

I had just got the new Norwegian Loadingbook and then i looked up the .378 Wby and the .375 Rum data, the .RUM matches the .378 Wby in energy...

and it said about the VVN N560 powders, "something like this, in dusk it remindes me of a Broadside from a battleship,,,,,"

But there is other powders for it and you can get them in a 7 lbs keg over here so it wont be that bad.

A bigbore rifle at a good price, cheap brass, and diesetts, and a ocean of various bullets.

The world hasnt got enough big Bores ,and people who uses them

I have a remington 700 in 375 rem ultra mag and it works fine. I don't think you will want too shoot or can match the 378 weatherby performance in a light gun.I have not seen many reloading recipies to get 6,000 ft. lbs out of the 375 rum. The factory loads at 5072 ft. lbs in a 7 1/2 lb rifle are fairly stout,at least for me anyway.

I have an XCR in 375H&H and it is by far the most pleasant big bore to shoot, I think that you will be surprised at just how much recoil they soak up for such a light gun.
You won't regret buying it
