Don't worry about the curse affecting Curl. He has already had the pox, which left him sterile, so his offspring won't be affected either.

The other curse these rifles have, is the requirement to use them on big expensive animals, yearly if the curse is to be avoided. The curse means the owner-hunter dies happy but impoverished.
