Custom wood on Ruger No.1
      #70297 - 28/01/07 04:44 AM

I would like to share some photos of a "re-stock" of my No.1.

The gun is a "B" or "standard", rechambered to 7mm Imperial Mag (7mm-404 Jeffery) the predecessor and balistic twin to 7mm RUM.

The wood was a semi-inlet bargain bin piece, in Claro.

I am quite pleased with the outcome, but now feel the need to rebarrel.......

Beautiful wood!

As you implied, once you start projects such as that it just tends to get away from you as more embellishments are added---

Beautiful classic gun Mark, very nice. Why bother rebarreling? For a bit more than the price of putting a quality tube on you could simply find another in the used rack.

Thanks gents!

The gun does get hunted.

The wood, beleive it or not was found on e-bay. It was so inexpensive I bought it to try my first resock, but the farther I got the better it looked, I ultimately chickened out and had an old gentleman from my club finish and checker it.

Maybe it is time for another one, maybe a 1A light......

Does the ebay seller have a store?

I was looking at something from this guy:

tkv000,

The seller did not have an e-store, he had bought the semi-inlet wood for a project of his own, but had moved the gun before the wood showed up.

The link you provided often has nice stuff, but I have not noticed any "bargains"
