Reminder - cartridge boxes

Anyone looking for cartridge boxes for the nitro express calibers up to .600 NE need look no further than J&J Products of El Monte, California.

Have you used these? Can you put the ammo in bullet up?

The reason I ask is that I have some boxes (MTM I think) that I have trouble fitting 458 Lott and 375 HH in and have to put them in bullet down. Even then they barely fit. Won't fit at all primer down.

Not that it matters in those cartridges as I can get them to woork. I have a 475 NE coming and I think that I'm going to have similar, if not worse issues with it.

The large size, which is marked ".45/70 to 600 N.E." will take .500 NE either bullet up or bullet down. It will take a .577 NE only bullet down, which also would be the case with the .600 NE.

These boxes are also available from Huntington's, which is where I got mine.

Just curious, why do you need the cases in the box with the bullets up?

Actually I think that I might have gotten that backwards. I don't have boxes in front of me right now. In any case, I was just wondering if they were designed for the big cartidges or just 'worked' for them.

The MTM (I think) boxes, just barely worked one way and not at all the other.

No other reason than that.

The are for big Cartridges unlike MTM's which are not. My 577/450 cartridges rattle around in them.

Just don't drop them with ammo in them as they break pretty easy.
