H. Holland

I have been looking at a 12 bore hammer shotgun recently. It is marked H. Holland so I was thinking it is a Henry Holland but also has the 98 New Bond Street address. Did Henry Holland operate out of the New Bond Street address prior to the firm becoming H&H? Can anyone shed some light on this shotgun? It is a cased back action sidelock with damascus bbls (2 sets) and a straight grip stock. Thanks.

It is a Harris Holland and he did operate out of that address starting around 1858 and became Holland and Holland in the mid 70's. Many of the H Holland guns are quite beautiful and well put together. You need to get the D. Dallas book Holland and Holland The Royal Gunmaker.
