Left-Handed DG rifles?

Hey guys, just wondering what kind of market there is for left handed dangerous game rifles. I wouldnt mind getting one in a couple of years when i get a little bit bigger and more recoil tolerant.

Wouldn't most non-cheekpiece double rifles be largely ambidextrous? Are they canted all?

A top lever double would be a little more difficult to open though, opening backwards.

It would depend on the maker. Most Brit guns have some castoff while most Euro guns don't. It is not difficult for a good stockmaker to bend the wood a bit.

Once saw a Merkel 9.3 x 74R listed in Cape Outfitters flyer as being left-handed, although I have not seen that mentioned elsewhere. My 470 NE was made by Searcy. Because his guns are made-to-order with stocks fit to your measurements, a left-hand stock is a reality with this gun (nicely done cheekpiece as well). The triggers fire left barrel first (front trigger) then right, which is exactly as a lefty would want. First shots pulls away from face and has less chance of doubling than if the trigger positions were reversed. The opening lever moves to the right to open the action, which is NOT a mirror-image of a right-handed gun, but I am quite used to pushing the lever to the right with my shotguns and would actually feel awkward to have to pull it in the opposite direction.

Of course twin triggers are still the wrong way too in stock doubles. The right barrels front trigger being to the right of the left or rear trigger. A lefty would ideally like it the other way round.
