I would not do it. The bands on the TSX are too wide to displace into the grooves, so your barrel must flex instead.

Me either. I'll never fire another mono, except maybe with a slingshot.

Uh-oh, 400 NE opened up the mono vs. non-mono debate again.

Let me just summarize by saying that a properly constructe mono, such as the flat nose solids offered by GS Custom and North Fork, are gentler on barrels than Woodleigh solids. However, improperly constructed monos, such as the Barnes TSX and Barnes solids, are rather hard on doubles.

Thanks for responding. Russ tells me I should have no problems. I e-mailed the factory that makes the tikkas. Let see what they say. With out a midrib chance of damage should be slim. I will let you know what the factory says. I got some accubond comeing. I did not like them at 270fps in my 375 H&H I killed a cow elk with one that blew up, too soft for realy big game, but at 2300 FPS it should be just the ticket.

The barnes came in today. They measured .365. I will try them later this week and report back.

500grains--

I assume the 9.3 North Fork Soft/Solids should be easier on ALL barrels with the NF's bullets close grooves/ribbing.Are they the proverbial "better moustrap"? Seems so.

I agree, I would definitely not use a Barnes mono in the Tikka either.
