A No. 1 in 450/400 would be sweet!

It sure does make a Ruger 1 tempting.
Hornady 405 bullets should work as they are only .001" oversize...and of course the 41 pistol bullets.
I imagine their 416 gas checks would be OK. The rimmed case and very long neck should make for a top cast bullet cartridge.

The latest magazine issue from SCI has an article by Craig Boddington on the Ruger No. 1 and the 450/400 3", using Hornaday factory ammo.
He shot an old dugga boy with the solid.

I wish Hornady would load their ammo with bullets made by another company.

I believe that Hornaday has reworked its soft point for the .458, it is now called an interbond (or something like that). There have been some previous threads on this bullet before. I think Hornanday beefed it up to be more like the Woodleigh weldcore.
Comments by those who have used seem to be favorable. I have yet to use the new Hornaday. I do use the 350 gr (in 458) as my practice bullet. I have a large supply of 500 gr Woodleighs in stock, so I will not be making the switch any time soon.

Dear Bob
This is no news for me, sadly, because Hornady is almost inexistant in France. I am quite sure that no Hornady cartridges are on the market. The 9.3*74R could have been very good news for these cartridges are very expensive here. By the by, I am really sorry to inform You that it's the first time I hear of the 375 Ruger. Thanks for sharing...................and upgrading the old continent.

Here is the URL to a thread with photos of a recovered .458 Interbond projectile. Based on a sample of one so far, it looks to be nearly as good as a Woodleigh!

This mushrooming is truly impressive.
Interbond bullet should be held in regard.

475guy: Try this one: Plan B
Just in case that doesn't work either, here is the pic in question:
500gr Interbond from Dave's .458 Lott, recovered under the hide after completely penetrating the spine at the base of the neck, still weighed 85%.

That bullet looks really great, but when I was in Zim this past Sept and Oct there were stoies going around about how the Hornaday guys, who were hunting in Sapi I think, with Andrew Dawson, were experiencing bullet failures. Apparently the interbonds were the issue and more than one problem was encountered. I heard Boddington lost a buff and others were recovered with difficulty and the recovered Hornadays were the problem.

Hopefully that means the bullet is a "work in progress" and it will be beefed up to lessen the rate of failures.
