I just bought my first double
A Searcy 450-400-3in 26 in barrels @10lb 2oz
I traveled to butches place got a tour Checked out the rifle and went and put 20 rounds through it.
recoil was minimal compared to my 458 lott Once butch taught me how to shoot it i could hit the paper Tried 200 yard shots verry promising
I recive it on wensday Allong with 100 rounds of brass bullets and dies from Hunnington And a Luepold 1.5x5 illuminated reticle scope with tally rings

congratulations! Thats an awesome rifle Perfect caliber for all-round work, and probably very nice for Boar aswell?

I've got .470 myself, but has contemplated that a .400 + .577 would be an ideal pair...

Hope You'll post a few pic's and give us a full report as you shoot it? Does Butch use stainless steel on the action or is it regular blue?

Good idea. I'd like to see a close up of the new Searcy. It is supposed to be a nice rifle.

PM me when you want to get together. I've got a couple of Doubles I can bring a long.

Congratulations on the new toy,
Is this the stainless PH model or the Case hardened CLASSIC model?

" I'd like to see a close up of the new Searcy. It is supposed to be a nice rifle."

I just got a classic in 500 NE. It is a nice rifle. More compact then I imagined it for some reason (I hadn't seen the larger sized action before getting mine). Tinker was there when I picked it up.

I will post some pictures in the archives when I get a chance... May not be before I leave for TZN at the end of the week though.

I agree with Bulldog here on the classic searcy

Very tidy, compact, and solidly built rifle.
Seems like a good deal of rifle for the price.
Can't wait to hear the field report when it gets back from the hunt...

The "Classic" is a very nice rifle! The only place in town where you can get a NIB 450/400 3 inch with proper 26" barrels!

Butch makes a dang good rifle! and he stand behind his work.

You guys are making it hard for me.
I can't wait for my 450/400 Classic to come through early next year. I hope to use it on a Buff, Ele , plains game and maybe a leopard towards August September next year.

You will not be dissapointed. The standard wood on the Classic is very nice.

Was that 'standard' wood on your gun?
It did look nice.
