JTG,

An absolute marvel! H&H have started making PAradox guns these days but they follow the hammerless route with Paradox rifling. WOuld that they follow Purdey's example and start making hammer guns! I know, I'll never be able to afford one, but it would be nice to look.

Thanks for posting these pictures. A stunningly beautiful rifle, no doubt!

I think that's a sucker bet. As mentioned above, this is the Wolverton gun being auctioned. Given that, from the looks of things, the rifle comes with a pair of presumably original cases, a pair of bullet moulds and a bunch of accompanying paperwork relating to rifle and Wolverton, I'd be surprised if it didn't go for a lot more than $25K. Being that there are a few 8-bore rifles out the for sale right now for 25-30K and an H&H paradox for sale at 21K, I can't imagine this one selling for less than 27-30K WITHOUT taking into account all the other neat stuff that comes with it. Also, none of the other mentioned guns have the engraving that this one does so my completely amateur prediction is 35-40K. I'm no expert but it seems to me that there may be a few die-hard anglophiles interested in the gun who would never in a million years consider shooting it (or even hunting in general for that matter). These are the guys who could take the bidding above what anyone might expect.

Any other estimates as to the selling price from those more knowledgable on the subject?

John

I had owned this gun up until last year and and traded it to Barnett and he traded it to I guess the current owner. The cases were original, but it had no accessories with it. Bidding without inspecting and knowledge is a dangerous thing. These are very unique guns.
