What type of action did you use? Will he be dressed in timber or synthetic and how long before he's ready to take his first step?

It is a vector double square bridge action, I was damn lucky to get hold of one. The barrel was also made by Vector. The goverment basically closed Vector, they manufactured quality stuff.

Now this baby will take a long time to take his first step, it is totally out of my control. I recon it will be finished within the next 6 - 9 months, but I cannot see that it will be on my name within the next 18 months. Our licensing system is to be blamed for that. Luckily I will be able to shoot it as long as Frikkie is with me.

Very cool Jaco. I hope it gets done (and the paperwork sorted out) ASAP.

Btw, did you know that it's a Norwegian gentleman who's bought the remaining stock of Vector double square bridge actions? About 550 of them, where 50 or so are left handed ones. So I'm told. His website: http://www.arms-ammo.no/

i need a negoiatior to get the receiver , they wont sell it loosem just as complete weapons, i dont have 9000 dollars for one now....

But its a great action, solid and rugged. Jaco wrote that a receiver cost 15-20000 Rand in RSA, and over here it would be about the same for it. They had 480 of them now in total, so there will be a lot of the Vektors over here to come in the years.

Eric,
I know that only a limited amount were made. I have heard that a overseas g/smith bought some and whatever was left in RSA were taken up by individuals. They are very scares and expensive nowadays. Guess I was extra lucky to get one and I paid a very reasonable price for it.

The guys in Europe that can lay their hands on one must take it when they have an oportunity.

My rifle will cost me a lot less than $9000.

Jaco,

I must admit that I regret not buying a Vector action from RSA in 404 Jeffrey a couple of years ago when I had the chance. It would have cost me 11.500,- Rand back then...
