quick mounts
      #62667 - 19/09/06 08:29 AM

I want to put quick removal scope
mounts on my 458 mod 70. I have
used Talley's they were difficult
to get everything back.
Thanks

I have had good luck with my quick release leupold rings and bases on my 458 Lott. Also use them on my 50 cal muzzelloader.

Do you mean they didn't return to zero (or close enough for hunting) when you took them off and put them back on?

The only set I had did return to zero
OK. The problem was the lever was
can rotate on the bolt holding them
in place. It was a pain to get both
levers lined up again. Has this been
changed ? If it has I would consider
them.

If that is the case, why not put the rings on with the levers on the port side of the rifle?

I believe an expensive double rifle justifies the best there is in terms of quality and return to zero, ergo the German claw mount, handfitted to perfection by a capable craftsman.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Now I'm trying Leupold QR mounts on a couple of guns. My new 338 had traveled already to Mongolia & Southafrica, shooted more than 80 shots and the scope is still perfect.

100% recomended.

No arguments here. Suhler mounts done right are the ultimate.
