OT: Aussie Aboriginal movie "Ten Canoes"

Off topic again, but the movie is set in Arnhemland so might be interesting.

An Australian Aboriginal movie (made with non-Aboriginal film makers as well of course) titled "Ten Canoes" received some sort of award at Cannes. It is now showing in cinemas in Australia.

It is set in Arnhemland and deals with the tribal life of the 'blackfellas' possibly before white man arrived (? I haven't seen it ?).

Has anyone seen it and what did you think of the movie?

I may shift this thread later to the films, literature etc forum. I think the movie might be interesting alone in that it is set and filmed in Arnhemland in the Top End of the Northern Territory.

I havn't seen it but I would like to. I don't think I would spend the $ to go to the cinema but would get it out on DVD.

Hi All go and get it out on DVD get a nice bottle of your favour tippel and enjoy it , it gives one a feeling of old time past of what Australia was like be the white fella came a long and stuffed things up ! It's little slow in parts but hang in there and you'll get the full value of the movie's story it's a good story it's about them living on their land their way ... I give it 4 1/2 *'s
