i was talking to a mate of mine the other day and he said that there isnt a lot of difference between the 303 and 7mm mauser i have not really had a look at the two of them together any input on this will be good thanks

The 303 is a rimmed round and the 7mm Mauser is a rimless round. That is the most obvious difference. The 303 was produced in the 1880's and the 7mm in the 1890's Both were loaded to similiar pressures!

i knew that the 303was rimmed and 7mm wasnt but i didnt know about the pressures

No idea about pressures etc - I don't reload, though my partner does that and is highly experienced in that hobby. That said, I have some experience with both the 303 and the 7mm Mauser and both are very nice hunting rounds with low recoil and superb performance. Why not have one of each? If you're into military rifles, neither is expensive and you get rifles in decent shape on Gun List for well below $ 200 in either calibre all the time.

that sounds like a bloody good idea to me mate now i just have to make up a reason to have one that way i wont get in trouble with the mrs
