Several problems:
Wearing binoculars.
Only one guy knew to hit the ground.
The lion must have been really sick to miss that guy.
Not to mention another screwed up shot on dangerous game.
And what the hell kind of hunt is that, where there is 6 white guys on a hunt? A canned hunt?
And, shit, nobody got shot.

My question would be why after the first shot when the lion dropped and then was back up as the camera ran and ran, why no follow up? It is my belief dangerous game or not if you have a follow up shot on a animal that is not down on the first shot you take it, not only for safety but out of common descent behavior and respect to a beautiful beast.
A lucky group indeed I don't see how the lion missed, If the lion doesn't get you the shear number of riles in the confined space should.

They were very, very lucky. That had the potential to turn into one major cluster flop!

Looks like that lion wrongfooted himself and overshot the mark cause he's got the brakes on bigtime just before he gets to his target. You can see both back feet skidding for some distance.
I have to take my hat off to the cameraman though and give him a "Very High Achievement" award.

I think that the lion may have been hit on that last shot and that may have caused him to miss the mark. All were extremly lucky though!!!

Agree with Will on this one as it had to be a canned hunt.
(1) Get a load of the mane..looks like is was shampooed that morning. (2) Looks like all those vertical branches sticking up are fence posts...pretty sure he's in an enclosure. (3) None of the lion's behavior say's "wild" lion to me. He's hit and goes down easily as if stunned and slowly gets to his feet...none of the frantic thrashing typically seen when a wild lion is hit. His charge, when it comes, is simply fast but his behavior when amongst the shooters shows he probably has never killed anything to eat in his life...look how he goes thru the line of shooters and then runs away...like a school-boys first fight....one punch and run. A wild lion would have latched onto to someone with his paws and pulled him in come hell or high water.
Kind of sad to watch but I'm glad no one got hurt no matter how stupid their behavior.

Yep a canned hunt. Other people on AR (where i got it from)with better computers state that they can see the fence. I can make out the fence posts on mine.
I think the last shot as the lion lept got him in the gut and threw him off. As he got up he was hunched up in the middle. I don't know why they didn't use a follow up shot either. Its not hunting and the "hunter" should be ashamed of himself. The only thing that impressed me was the speed that the lion moved.

Don't know where it was filmed. The lion is a full maned bugger, looks impressive. The clip was taken from AR. Perhaps it will work from you there?

I was hoping the Lion would have got at least a couple of 'em. Maybe they retired after this one huh?

Dugaboy1,
Here is the link to the original post I made with the link working to the movie.
Enjoy or lets actually say damn why didn't the lion take him out. !
Canned lion hunt
The worst I can see of the movie is the low recoil of the rifle which looks like something like a .300 was used and then no shooting it again as soon as it moved to get up again. Just plain stupidity but I suppose you need stupid people to do stupid canned hunts.
