got my #1 458 tropical friday

i picked up my #1 in 458 win mag friday... looked all over san antonio tx for loaded ammo... wanted to shoot it over the weekend, but it didn't happen... i'll order some this week... suggestions for load/brands???...i dont have anything in mind in particular...i'm planning on hog hunting... south texas...not any plans for dangeroug game for several years....i'll reload for it eventually.... thanks...

If you can find some Federal factory loads with the 350 gr Hornady RN, that would be a great pig load.

Many years ago I bought a 458 #1 tropical as a barreled action. I ordered a Fajen semi inletted stock in laminated walnut and maple. It seemed African to me. Sent the gun out to be (no laughing) magnaported.
It took me about a year to fit and finish the stock. It sat in the gun safe for a long time after firing a couple of boxes of magnum loads.
Then I found the Federal 350 grain ammo. What pleasure to shoot making this a practical gun to own. It's killed many hogs and whitetail. Maybe a little overgunned but it sure is fun.
I really like this gun a lot.
