404 Jeffery at the NRA Show
      #55942 - 28/04/06 05:17 AM

Wanted to invite anyone attending the NRA show next month in Milwaukee to come by and pay us a visit at booth #1723. Here is a sneak preview of one of the rifles that will be there with us. It is a 404 Jeffery, with Hein Custom Double Square Bridge, 5+1 drop box magazine, checkering by Gary Goudy, engraving by Jim White.

Karl, to my eyes, your rifle is everything a DG bolt rifle should be. Incredible wood, just the right kind and amount of engraving, and classic British styling through and through.

Can you give us some specs, such as barrel length, weight, LOP, sights (looks like a single standing leaf on a quarter rib, but what about the front)? How about price, too, assuming it's for sale?

Very, very nice.

Any more news on your upcoming Mauser M98 actions?

Karl,

I second Erik in asking about your new actions. Also, what other rifles would you be exhibiting? Or do you want to keep it a surprise?

I shall look forward to meeting you in Milwaukee,

Best wishes!

Specs on the 404
24" barrel, with barrel band fron sight. One standing leaf on the quarter rib. Weight 9 lbs, 14" length of pull.

We are just starting to cut steel on the Mausers they won't be ready until the Dallas Safari Club show in January.

Other rifles that will be in Milwaukee

C-97 Falling block, the one from our website, with the two barrel set in 375 Flanged and 500 NE.

A synthetic stocked 338 Ultra Mag

A Wood stocked 300 WSM

An action for 585 Nyati

and maybe 1 or two more, just depends on where we are on them when we leave.

Karl

I'm in Australia and will not make it to the show so have to ask the unasked question so far - how much does a beautiful gun like this cost ?

Regards
Rick

That's a truly beautiful rifle........

I have a question:

Can you build them with an American Classic-style stock, with a higher comb and a full cheekpiece, plus a little tighter pistol grip, in a Biesen-type pattern?

I had the opportunity of spending Friday at the NRA show. Spent a good bit of time with Karl, Greg, and Dave of WFH and had the chance to meet Mehul, all are fine Gentlemen.

Spent a good bit of time handling the 404 Jeffery pictured here and can tell you all that the pics posted do not do justice to the workmanship, skill, and quality of this rifle...just fantastic!

WFH also had a switch barrel (375 Flanged/500NE) falling block that would fit in any gun collection and a fine hunting rifle as well. I was not really a single shot fan but after handling this beauty I have changed my mind....just a fine set-up period.

Seeing WFH's craftmanship, I went ahead and ordered Heins first two Mausers. After handling the WFH rifles, at this show, I am even more convinced of my choice of WFH. It will be awhile before I receive them but I beleive they will be worth the wait...good stuff!

I also am anxious to see their Mauser action. Should be a beauty.

Karl,

You holding out on us.... How about some pictures of the 375/500 SS?

JJS,

It was indeed wonderful meeting you, Karl and Greg. Yes, I too hope to join the Hein club later this year. The dropping block rifle was indeed one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and I agree with you completely - no wonder they have a client who ahs ordered two 700s from them!

You must post pictures of your rifles as they are being made. A new thread beginning with a picture of the Denli wood is mandatory now that you have posted about them.

Best wishes and thanks for posting. I am glad that I got to meet you gentlemen and look orward to seeing your gun here,

Just wanted to thank JJS and Mehulkamdar and any one else who visited with us in Milwaukee. It was a great show and lots of fun. The 375/500 SS is the one pictured on our website.
