well........!

I`Ve handle some of them at a small gun/hunting show here in denmark! The Mauser int`sale rep Alexander and I had a good long talk about MAUSERS and even though I am a 98 fan, I since then had the M03 haunting my head. I was very impressed with it and i believe the mauser have finally found a concept that truly fit "in" with their `98 line.
I think the features on the M03 were great, and listing to Alexander i was even more impressed of how they "battleproved" the rifle. They froze the rifle down to
-60Celcius and the rifle could shoot, repete shoot, put on safety and then off safety and shoot repete and so on!
They have thrown dirt/sand into the action and then frozed it down+ sprinkel it with water until -60 celcius was reached and had the gun to shoot again and again....now thats a MAUSER. i may get it later this year as I have other rifle project in the fire..

I don't own one but have looked at them very closely
and I like them. Fit and finish is very good, gun is well
balanced.

I also think they got it right.

Are these things really worth the price? I mean for 10K u could get one hell of a custom bolt rifle.

I think the 10K rifles are the Magnum Mauser 98 rifles, the M03's are a bit less - from 3-5K. I'll leave the value of the Magnum Mausers to those that have more experience with them.

Or hey, for that matter -- on a production rifle -- why so much more for the magnum?
It doesn't take that much more metal to make a magnum length action than it does to make a standard length action...

The M98 magnum is the expensive rifle - the M03 is a totally different action. I can't comment on fit and finsh issues.
